Called To Help Others

Michigan exonerees to travel to Missouri to promote

One byproduct of having an outstanding Conviction Integrity Unit in Wayne County and two excellent Innocence Projects in Michigan, is that a vibrant community of exonerees has developed. They are supported by a wrongful conviction community which has helped them in their exonerations and supports them afterward to see them succeed in life.

Michigan exonerees are on a mission. They believe they can be an agents of change. They are "raising money to fund a trip to Jefferson City, Missouri during the week of August 30th, 2021. The money raised will specifically be used for travel and lodging for approximately 40-50 attendees who will be attending the Rally For Justice for Kevin Strickland and Lamar Johnson,, still wrongfully incarcerated by an inflexible system. Any money left over will be used for other future events to rally for justice."

Exoneree Kenneth Nixon and the National Organization of Exonerees [in the process but not yet a 501(c)3] are asking for your support. They are grateful for changes that have taken place in our state (still more to do!) and want to encourage changes in Missouri that will help Strickland and Johnson.
