The work of Proving Innocence continues through the Organization of Exonerees

Proving Innocence is closing its doors.

Looking back, we see the role we played in fighting wrongful convictions and making things a little easier for wrongfully convicted persons upon their release from prison.

We are delighted to see the Organization of Exonerees (OOE) now manage the Walking Free Fund (WFF), which gives money to wrongfully convicted people immediately upon release from prison. We want to encourage everyone to support the OOE as they continue to support released persons in their struggle to adapt to their new life.

For more information on OOE, please visit:

We want to thank those who have supported us over the years. We know you will continue the fight for the sake of the wrongfully convicted and for a more just and merciful society.

Please go to our website for a more detailed explanation of our decision and a letter from the Organization of Exonerees. They describe what the WFF has meant to them and how they intend to continue the program, a perfect supplement to the work they are already doing.

A New Chapter Begins

On Sept 4, Darrell Siggers of OOE and Bill Branham of Proving Innocence give Chazlee Lemons $750 from the Walking Free Fund.

On behalf of the Proving Innocence Board,

Bill Branham
