To free innocent men and women wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for crimes they did not commit.
Proving Innocence focuses on four areas:
Providing professional investigators and volunteers to work with those wrongfully convicted to substantiate their assertions of innocence.
Educating the public and policymakers on the need for reform in the criminal justice system.
Supporting changes in the criminal justice system to prevent or reverse wrongful convictions
Helping exonerees access post-release services to facilitate a successful return to society.
In fulfilling its mission and vision, Proving Innocence collaborates with others dedicated to addressing wrongful convictions and relies on a thorough screening process to determine that the individual's claim of innocence is credible and can be substantiated upon rigorous investigation.
